Both brass and strings - without resorting to any of the available built-in instruments - have been recorded through the same RME D-Firebox digital console with the same faders used to mix the orchestral sections. This is in contrast to Hollywood Strings where the two sections were mixed separately on separate consoles using a complex blend of live and pre-recorded instruments. The D-Firebox was chosen for these suites as it offers the best quality of sound and tone reproduction and, unlike many other DAW systems, it offers multiple stereo inputs, and a stereo return on each mic. This is important in these large suites, as there are many tracks and multiple players, and in some cases the musicians don't travel with a dedicated mic but mix microphones on the console. The D-Firebox also has a much larger built-in sound card than the one used in the familiar D-WAV series of consoles, allowing the studio to record to an external card, and allows the playback to be heard through a pair of large-diaphragm (CD-quality) headphones.

Hollywood Pop Brass was recorded in EastWest's Studio 1 from almost identical mic positions to those used in Hollywood Strings, ensuring a perfect blend between the two orchestral sections' aural perspectives.
